The Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics promotes the health, safety and well-being of children and adolescents so they may reach their full potential. The Ohio AAP will accomplish this by addressing the needs of children, their families, and their communities, and by supporting Chapter members through advocacy, education, research, service, and improving the systems through which they deliver pediatric care.
2009 Breakfast for Books video – If you were unable to attend the Ohio AAP's Breakfast for Books fundraiser on June 22, you can watch the video. The event made just under $14,500 and drew the largest crowd ever. Mike Vrabel, linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, was the guest reader.
Asthma Project – The Ohio Chapter was chosen as one of four chapters by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to participate in the Chapter Quality Network (CQN) Asthma Pilot Project. In this role, Ohio AAP will be making improvements in pediatric practices for children with asthma through clinical improvements in asthma care, as well as through creating a sustainable infrastructure within the Ohio AAP to facilitate future quality improvement programs.
