CQN Asthma Pilot Project

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is committed to helping pediatricians provide high quality health care to children. Engaging in quality improvement (QI) work to implement evidence based guidelines is one of the methods by which the AAP can support pediatricians to realize this goal. The Chapter Quality Network (CQN) Asthma Pilot Project is an exciting new program in which the National Office of the AAP is providing the Alabama, Maine, Ohio, and Oregon Chapters with tools, resources and technical support to lead a QI effort among 10 to 15 member practices to improve care for children with asthma. This program is available to your local chapter through the generous support of the Merck Childhood Asthma Network, Inc. (MCAN), the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and the Academy's Friends of Children Fund.

Participating practice teams will attend a series of four learning sessions, followed by action periods where they will have the opportunity to try out changes in their offices/clinics. During the action period, practices will measure their progress toward improvement goals. Expert faculty will coach the teams to apply key change ideas into their own practices.

The CQN Asthma Pilot Project offers both you and your practice an unparalleled opportunity to improve care for children with the support of your local chapter as well as expert faculty. We look forward to your participation in the Chapter Quality Network (CQN) Asthma Pilot Project!
